Family Fridays #1

Baby E and Holly the cat stare

Filling in my maternity leave form, I was certain I’d be ready to go back to work around the 6 months mark (I was so wrong) but I was undecided on the full-time or part-time. I returned to after 10 months of maternity leave and I requested Fridays off for the next couple of months. This was an experiment to hopefully help me decide my working hours. And that’s how Family Fridays began.  For me, it’s a time to spend with my son, maybe meet up with some mummies and whip up a nice meal for date night with the man in the evening.  And while I’m still sleep deprived, take a nap when he does which involves making sure I’m at home for his naps. Yes, I became that mother who had to leave activities early so her child could nap at home.

We spent our first one at home, exploring the garden, touching flowers and generally taking it easy.

Anyone know the name of this plant?

Baby E also got into a bit of a chase with the neighbour’s cat. I think the cat won!

That was our first Family Friday!  He also started clapping consistently/on demand too so here’s to many more fun times.  Do you work part-time? How do you spend your days off?

P.S. The series of pictures I took of this chase makes a wonderful and hilarious gif. Love handy technology!

Spread the love

Thank you. He is adorable which goes some way in making up for his lack of sleeping at night
