Meal Plan and Shopping List – Week 2

It’s Meal Plan Friday for the second time this year and the enthusiasm is still going strong. Yay! So what’s on the menu?

Monday

Lunch:  Veggie pasta bake
Dinner:  Leftover takeaway from the weekend
Snacks: Hummus sandwich, veggies, banana, cheese and raisins

Tuesday

Lunch: Chicken hot-pot with crusty bread
Dinner: Pork stir-fry
Snacks: Banana, cheese biscuits, yoghurt and veggies

Wednesday

Lunch: Bacon and egg sandwich (adults); toddler at grandparents
Dinner:  Chilli
Snacks: *grandparents providing for toddler; fruit and veg for adults

Thursday

Lunch: Sausage casserole with bread
Dinner: A freezer meal
Snacks:  Yoghurt, banana bread, veggies, raisins and grapes

Friday

Lunch: Tuna with rice
Dinner: Chilli(toddler); Date night meal (adults – could be takeaway)
Snacks: Available options

Saturday

Lunch: Brunch
Dinner: Fishcakes/kievs with chips and mushy peas
Snacks:  Available options

Sunday

Lunch:  Pasta salad
Dinner: Roast or meat & 2 veg
Snacks:  Available options

 

Shopping List

Fruit and Vegetables
  • Banana
  • Apples
  • Grapes
  • Pear
  • Cucumber
  • Tomatoes
  • Carrot
  • Peppers
  • Onion
  • Seasonal veggies
Meat/Fish
  • Sausages
  • Chicken thighs (pack of 6 at least)
  • Bacon
Dairy
  • Milk
  • Yoghurts (toddler and adult)
Cupboard
  • Tin tomatoes
  • Bread: sliced and rolls
  • Macaroni
  • Fizzy water
  • Drinks for guests
Household
  • Toilet roll
  • Multi-purpose cleaner

As usual, a few slow cooker meals have been included so the The Growing Dad can get his cheffing on. He’s even bought a book stand for the slow cooker recipe book. I’ve always wanted a book stand for the kitchen so it was a nice surprise.
