Ways We Try to do Food Shopping Quickly and More Efficiently

Food shopping is my least favourite type of shopping. I really dread it but alas we must eat so I am always looking for ways to make it quicker, easier and maybe more fun (Is that even possible?) Shopping List Creating a shopping list is a no-brainer. It focuses my mind as I move through the aisle so I am less distracted by the tempting offers around. I take it a step further and organise it into little sections – grouping similar ingredients together. It also acts as a prompt for the next shopping list. I thought about organising it logically by aisle order but the supermarkets are forever keeping…

Meal Plan, Shopping List and Evenings Out – Week 7

Pancake day was earlier on this week but we postponed our indulgence to this weekend. That will require a special shopping trip as we have lots of friends coming round for the occasion. I am hoping to try out a few pancake recipes from around the world too so it’s probably best to steer clear of fried batter this week! What’s on the menu? *The Growing Dad is meeting friends for unlimited ribs at Rancho Steakhouse so I am indulging in a Nigerian meal. The toddler will have something I can quickly rustle up so I can eat later and don’t have to share haha. What are you cooking this week?…

We took it in turns to cook every night (it was a group holiday) and amazingly each dish came from a different country. It’s Pancake Day next week! I don’t need an excuse to eat pancakes but we love marking the occasion by hosting a few friends and eating as many as I can make. That’s how I stumbled across my favourite – banana and bacon. So what else is on the menu this week? What Drives…

Meal Plan, Shopping List and a Holiday – Week 5

We are away for most of the week but I decided that a holiday isn’t going to stop the meal planning train! Last week, we had a takeaway curry with friends, buffet-style, which is a way I’ve never done before. It was really lovely and a great way to catch up! I got to sample different dishes – like Dansak, which I never would have been brave enough to order. We also enjoyed a lovely savoury pancake feast on the Saturday and an amazing roast dinner for lunch at a friend’s on Sunday. So what is theoretically on the menu this week (haha)? Monday Lunch: Pasta with Chicken Dinner: Mezze…

Meal Plan, Shopping List and a Lunch Date – Week 3

A few tweaks were required to last week’s meal plan as the little one fell ill. He coped well with dishes of a smooth consistency so he had quite a bit of soup and dishes involving mash potatoes.
